Whoop Whoop!! I am officially living in my new house and I absolutely love it!!!
I was up at 7.15am on Saturday morning and by 8.30 I was loading the car with the first load of stuff to be moved. All morning I was back and forth with boxes. Claire very kindly came round about 10.30ish and completed the inventory for me. Then her and Lewis put up my wardrobe unpacked my DVDs and arranged the furniture. At 10am Jo and Adam arrived at mums with the van ready for the lifting and shifting of all the heavy furniture. Mum had a mild panic attack at about 9.50am that Jo wasn't going to arrive but he did.
After a lot of hard work we got all the major stuff moved and buy Sunday it was all unpacked. There are still a few bits that I have left at the old house but I can get those after work in the evenings. The rest of the family have this week off so they have plenty of time to adjust I however am back to work today so ever so slightly jealous of Alan being home on his own.
Yesterday I was getting ready and it felt like I was staying as a guest in someones else's house I think it is going to take a week or so to get totally settled. I had trouble sleeping last night due to "new house noises" but I am sure I will get used to these eventually.
All in all the weekend has been totally knackering but so worth it.
On other items, I went for a Curry with the lovely Miss Green on Friday night to the New Bengal in Gosport. The food was once again delish and I will certainly be making that my regular for Curry related eating. She came round to the new place first with some fizzy champers to celebrate the move, she truly is a love!!
Sunday was not such a fun day, I woke up with a stomping headache which I put down to the fact I didn't really have a lot to eat or drink on Saturday so probably a bit dehydrated. I went to Asda with mum to get some food in as we didn't really have anything. On the way out I ended up (and I'm not really sure how) having a run in with my dad on the phone. And as much as I am ashamed to say it started crying in the car park ahhhhhhhh!!! Got home and was putting the shopping away and managed to bash my head on the corner of one of the cabinets, needless to say I swore, a lot and then cried some more. Emily came round again and we just chilled out and chatted, had a small bite to eat and then she headed home.
The family then went to the Cocked Hat for dinner, thankfully by then dad had got over his tantrum by then and the evening passed very nicely. I managed to get two loads of bedding washed and when I left for work this morning they were almost dry so good times on that front.
My uncle has come down from Cheltenham today to pick up our old oven and fridge freezer, he has helped mum and dad do a few bits round there new place and they are off out for something to eat. He will probably have headed home before I finish work so wont get to see him which is a same.
Thankfully I haven't got much planned for the rest of the week as I could do with just relaxing. Tonight I am going to make some dinner and have a nice hot bath as I have been freezing all day, for some reason the heating in the office hasn't been working properly and it has been worse than the old house for cold.
Got fat club tomorrow so the next entry will be about that, not feeling confident for any loss this week but I have been very busy so not going to feel too bad about it.

Good Things
I went to Slimming World (here after referred to as Fat Club) on Tuesday morning, I decided as I had a busy day planned I might as well go to the morning group. Got weighed for my second week and if I am honest was not expecting to have gone well. I had hardly written anything down all week so wasn't handing in my food diary. But I stood on the scales and to my surprise I had lost 4lbs. I was stunned that is 6lb in 2 weeks. If I can maintain that this week and lose an extra pound on Tuesday I will have lost half a stone in three weeks. Damn good effort I think.
Further good news has been received today, my very good friend Hayley has had here baby. It wasn't due until the 2nd February but it appears she gave birth to a little boy at 01:15 this morning weighing in at 6lb 6oz and named Oliver James Robinson. I am very excited to meet the little chap.
The house move is looming ever closer, I am 95% packed which is good. My friend Adam who was going to help with a van has let me down so now we are reduced to one van to move all big items for the four of us. Jo is kindly helping and we have got him scheduled in for 930/10am.
I was supposed to be going out on Friday night with a few peeps from work and Green but that has now been cancelled as Vicky is also moving house this weekend. I do think this is possibly for the best as it means that I can do some moving on Friday night and by the time the big furniture gets moved on Saturday I will be sorted. Then I can help everyone else. Although they all have next week off work so they have plenty of time to get themselves unpacked I however will be back at work and I really don't want to be living out of a suitcase and boxes if I can avoid it.
I am back at work today after having my three days off, I was hoping coming back would be less stressful but apparently that is not the case. The last few days have been manic apparently and everyone seems to be feeling rather stressed. I feel like I am the only one in a good mood, will be interesting to see how long that lasts.
Not long to the weekend!! haha!!

Almost Mugged Off....
My lovely little car has been waiting for a good service for a couple of months now and as I have got a couple of days off work decided to be productive and book it in for a right old seeing to.
So off I went to Southampton, got to the garage and handed over the keys. Was told by the very spotty boy behind the desk it would be 2 hours including the cleaning so headed off to West Quay and Ikea for some time wasting.
Went to Costa and had a coffee then to Ikea, Alan asked me to look for a wardrobe and mum wanted me to price up some chest of drawers so with mission in hand I very slowly wondered around Ikea taking photos and noting costs of relevant items. After about an hour I wondered over to Next Home ware store. I wasn't even half way round when I received a phone call from the garage. I was advised that my front break pads were almost completely worn and my break discs were in need of replacing and this work would cost me £209.98. I very politely told them I couldn't afford it right now and would get it sorted as soon as I was paid.
As soon as I had finished that call I rang Auto Tyre Centre in Gosport to see if Jo (the god of all mechanics) could check over the service sheet and the brakes as I had a feeling the garage were trying to mug me off being as the car is no longer under warranty.
So I picked the car up from the garage and headed straight to Jo's. He took one look at the brakes and said if they did need doing it wouldn't cost anywhere near what Renault wanted plus there is nothing wrong with the discs and the pads are barely half worn. Renault lied!!!!! I am not surprised as soon as they know the car isn't in warranty, and the fact it was a girl who bought it in they clearly thought well we've got one here lets rip her off!! Sorry lads you aren't getting one over on me. No one does anything to my car until I have checked with Jo.
Moral of the story, never trust a corporate garage not to rip you off and always seek mechanical advise from trusted source.
Rant over!!

Its all go....
So on Wednesday Green sent me a text at lunch time to see if I fancied going out for dinner, well its Wednesday of course I'm up for dinner. So after a quick phone call we decided it would be rude not to do Orange Wednesdays and as she had a voucher for money off food we decided to break with routine and go to Giraffe for dinner rather than Nandos.
I must say that food was lush and not all that badly priced either. I had chicken wings to start and thought it would be best to try and eat them with a knife and fork but after half of the first one gave up and resorted to eating with my fingers. Sometimes there is just no place for being elegant while you eat. I had a chicken Schnitzel bacon burger for main. Yum Yum!! I will most certainly go back. It was a nice atmosphere and the decoration was nice. Although I love Nandos, it is always nice to have a bit of variety in life.
We decided to go and see the Kings Speech, see if it lived up to all the hype and award nominations. Thankfully we managed to get through the ice cream queue without Emily ripping another £5 note like she did on our last visit. There was however some confusion regarding the screens. We were in screen 1 and there was a huge queue going right out of the door which we believed to be for our screen so we stood in the foyer with our ice cream for 15 mins until we discovered the queue was in fact for a different screen!! Fail!! Whilst standing eating our ice cream, which half way through defeated me, possibly due to too much chocolate I managed to spill some down my purple coat. I really cannot be trusted.
The film was very good. It isn't a comedy but there were some good comedy moments. I am a bit of a history fan so films about things that actually happened do interest me. Colin Firth certainly deserves his awards in my opinion. It can't be easy to learn to stutter the way he does in the film. I think I might purchase it when it comes out on DVD.
The rest of the week was pretty quiet, things are getting better at work and my level of responsibility is getting higher. I had a meeting with the teams on Thursday to launch our new process which I have been working on and I got a lot of praise from my boss regarding how good the work I had done was. More brownie points for me! Good Times.
This weekend has been unbelievably busy. I was at the hairdressers for 10am yesterday, was lovely to see Nathan as haven't seen him since the beginning of December. Its always nice to have a chat. I now have purple hair, was getting rather bored with the red and it as it fades so easily I decided to go a bit darker. Totally love it.
When I finished there I popped into the Natwest to open a new bank account for our bills when we move. Now I can start sorting out the direct debits for all the utilities and the TV licence. Once I finished there I met Alan and we went down to leaders to sign our tenancy agreement and pay the deposit. We have done it early because he is working on Saturday and it means I can get in the flat first thing and check things over before we start moving stuff in. Then I went with mum to her new house to help with the measuring of furniture. I still don't think they have realised the actual definition of down sizing but they will get there. Or at least I hope they will as its only a week until move day!!
Today I spent the afternoon with Mrs Coote, having a good old chin wag. Now that we don't work together I don't get to see her as much so its nice to have some time to just sit and put the world to rights. Then I went and picked up my Peter Kay Tickets from Lynne's. Busy Busy Busy.
I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off work next week so will be getting my car serviced and cracking on with the packing ready for the move. I will be glad when we are moved and I can have a weekend of just chillaxing!
I can honestly say for the first time in a long time I am happy with everything going on in my life. 2011 is treating me well so far.

Every journey starts with a single step!!
Today is the morning after the night before and on this occasion I don't mean that in the sense that I have been drinking.
Last night was my first weigh in since starting Slimming World again and I am very pleased to be able to report that I have lost 2lb this week. A good first step I feel!! There are of course many more steps to be taken to get to goal but I am on my way! As the munchkins said "follow the yellow brick road"!!
On a further positive note in relation to the house move I have been advised by my mum that we have received a compensation payment from the people who turned off our gas and the money covers the deposits for both our move and theirs. Hopefully I can use some of the money to buy a microwave as this is the only appliance we don't have. It also means that my savings are safe and I wont be completely skint when we move.
D'Ream was right - things can only get better!!

I hate Mondays!!!
OMG!! Its official I hate Mondays!! Or at least Monday mornings.
Today has to have been the worst day ever for a long time. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to get to work, and once again the traffic report on the radio was a total waste of time. I don't think they do it on purpose they just seem to miss the massive traffic jams on the M27 but report every road around it. So I was late getting to work bad times. Although just to point out I am not blaming the radio for this fact it was all the cars on the road by 7.30 that were the issue.
No sooner is my computer on (not even in the system) and the phone is ringing with customers complaining, I am on the early shift and the only one available to take calls until 9am. Call after call was someone moaning and complaining. I have no problem helping anyone with any issues and will do everything thing I can to get issues resolved but today it occurred to me that not one of these issues are my fault or something I even have control over.
It is probably like this every day but as I am feeling like a right girl today everything seems to be hitting my last nerve, hence the entry now, try and get it off my chest before the afternoon starts and things get progressively worse. I spoke to mum and she told me to think positively, as I pointed out I am, I am positive it is all total rubbish!!
Plus side, I finish at 5 today so at least I can be in bed by 6.30 and hide away from the world until all this emotional rubbish has passed!!

Found It.....
YIPPEE!!!! We found one, the perfect house, we are moving!!
Being as we had 6 properties lined up for today I was convinced this was going to be one long day and no doubt a very unproductive one at that. How wrong I was! Me and Mum picked Alan up from work in Fareham and headed back to St Georges Barracks in Gosport. Now I have loved these buildings since they were first built and have wanted to live there for ages so this property was the main one I had my eye on. The bonus being it is part furnished so we don't need to worry about white goods or a 3 piece suit. The hard part was going to be convincing Alan. Job done, he walked in looked at the size of the kitchen and front room and was sold, the size of the bedroom and the en suite shower room were a total bonus. So we cancelled all the other viewings and put a holding deposit down. Bring on the 29th Jan when we get the keys.
I have called Sky and booked that in, so one less thing to worry about. That is going in on the 29th Jan as well so we wont be without TV. Just got to start packing now, for me it shouldn't take too long but Alan might need a bit of help. Because it has an en suite shower room we get a bathroom each so there wont be any fighting over the shower in the morning!! Result!!
It was mums 60 birthday yesterday, she loved all her prezzies and got three massive bunches of flowers. The four of us are going to The Osborne View for dinner tomorrow to celebrate the birthday and the fact we are all moving on the same weekend. Again YIPPEE!!
Well that's all for now, just wanted to share about the house.

A New Day, A New Dawn
There is always one day that is the first day of the rest of your life and today is mine, Tuesday 11th January 2011.....
Today I (re)joined Slimming World on the basis of new year new me!! I can safely say without fear of contradiction I have been here before, I have had so many weight loss first days that I have lost count but I need to make this one count. The thing is, I know Slimming World works, I proved that last year when I lost half a stone before my amazing holiday with Green to New York but then I came home and was told I was being made redundant so I resorted to eating to keep calm about it, then by the time that had sorted itself out it was almost Christmas and what is the point of starting this before Christmas that is just throwing money away. Therefore I know I can do this and more importantly I want to do this. As my group leader said tonight I have already made the first step I walked in the door now I just have to work hard to achieve my goal.
My main target is to have lost two stone by my birthday so I have just under 5 months to really nail this. Then it means that by the time I go to the Isle of Wight Festival in June I should be a skinny Minny and not be worrying about what I am going to wear if it is too hot. I have to remember that lying about what I am eating isn't cheating anyone other than me, so I will make sure to write about how my days / weeks are going here to remind myself that this is important and I can do it!! Here is to weight loss glory!! hurrah!!
In other news Green advised me today that our tickets to see Glee live in London have arrived, I am very excited by this news as this is one of my many social calendar entries for 2011. Only down side is we have to wait until June, but it will be a fab day out in London!
Work is getting busier by the day, Sam (my manager) clearly thinks I'm good at the job because he is giving me loads of responsibility and to top it off I am getting so much praise from other people I am worried my ego wont fit through the door soon. Not bad for only being there a month if I do say so myself! Long may it continue.
I would just like to add, Michael McIntyre says that traffic on a Friday.....Its a nightmare, I can confirm he is wrong, traffic on a Monday now that is a fricking nightmare. I have never had as much issue getting to work as I did yesterday it took me over an hour for a journey that at worst should only take 40 mins. Then to top it off I put the traffic report on the radio and the best report they could come up with was "the motorway is very busy" OBVIOUSLY!!! They don't believe in telling you why, giving you a valid reason for the fact you haven't moved from one spot for 10 mins they just seem to like pointing out the fact you cant move!! Its just rude, give me a god damn reason would you!!! Anyway traffic related rant over now.
Some progress on the housing front, yesterday me and Alan put together a list of 6 properties to view at the weekend. Mum kindly booked most of them in for us today however the two we wanted to see the most have gone (typical) but we still have 4 to see and going by the photos all seem really nice. I am not going to get my hopes up this time but the law of averages surely has to be on our side??
So until next time......."Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game"

It is all a bit new!
OK so 2011 is going to be a busy year for me and as everyone keeps saying the world is going to end in 2012 I thought, to hell with it lets write a diary. Photos are great for memories but you cant get everything from a photo. I mentioned my diary idea for my very good friend Miss Emily Green who suggested maybe I should do this instead as she has been blogging for a while now. So here goes.......
2011 is starting out with a lot change for me. The family (me, mum, dad and brother) have decided that we need to move house. This wasn't a decision that was made lightly and has caused a few heated discussions over the last month but due to the fact that we have been living in a house with no central heating or gas since July enough has certainly become enough.
I should perhaps expand on this a little, my current house and childhood home is part of the boundary wall of Haslar Hospital, the hospital has now closed and the site has been sold to a private firm to develop in to yet more flats and luxury accommodation. Back in July 2010 on the pretence of a gas leak they turned the gas off, we were not informed of this wonderful decision and found out the hard way when the stove stopped working. We were assured that all would be done to rectify this situation and I am now sitting here is January 2011 with still no gas. Some people might say that's not that bad they gave you electric heaters but being as my house is 200 years old, has no insulation or double glazing any heat you can generate just disappears!!! So as I said enough is now well and truly enough!!
Mum and Dad were very lucky and managed to find the perfect house for them after only a couple of weeks of looking. Me and Alan have not been so lucky, we had so many viewings booked in before Xmas but because of the snow they all cancelled, I managed to get our fave ones re booked for this weekend but they were all let before we even got a chance to get there. Then late on Friday night, mum found a lovely house off Military Road in Gosport, we got an appointment booked for Saturday afternoon, viewed the house and it was perfect, just what we had been searching for. I got back from the last viewing of the day (no more than an hour from leaving the perfect house) I called the agent to say yes only to be told "I am so sorry the landlord let the property privately and they called half an hour ago to advise" gutted does not describe how I felt.
After an afternoon of being extremely annoyed and angry I am looking on the positive side, we have worked out exactly what we can afford and we are now widening our criteria for places maybe even looking at a 3 bed house rather than 2 for a bit extra storage. Hopefully by the end of the month when mum and dad move we will be ready to go to and start a whole new chapter!!
That in itself is a lot to be doing right now but add to it everything else that is planned for 2011 I am not sure when I am going to have time to stop. I started a new job in December and my first month has gone very well, this was bought about by being made redundant again, after three go's I am getting rather good at it but hope this is it now. The hours are longer than my previous job which means evenings are shorter but I am not complaining as it is paying for all my other activities. I am not going to ruin my plans by writing about them now you will have to wait and see.....
The reason I mention the shortness of my evenings is as of late and mainly through the influence of friends I have become rather addicted to certain TV shows, the main ones being Greys Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Brothers & Sisters and Castle. Due to the fact that I caught on to most of these shows a little later than most I am currently trying to catch up. Castle and Gossip Girl aren't an issue as I am on top of those however I am only half way through season 6 of Greys and season 7 has just started on living, I have 10 more episodes to go of season 6 before I can catch up with season 7. I haven't even started season 4 of Brothers & Sisters and season 5 starts on More4 at the end of the month. So much viewing and not enough time. Plus most Wednesday me and Green hit the cinema for 241 and a bit of Nandos so that takes an evening out of my viewing time. I am not complaining though as I love Orange Wednesdays.
I am a big believer in the theory that "Everything happens for a reason", as well as the power of positive thinking will win out. Both of these ideas will see me through what promises to be an amazing 2011, with friends and family by your side to guide you through, what can go wrong..........?
So on that note I am going to sign off for today, hopefully with everything crossed my next post will be to advise we found a house.
